Hal Hobson-Morse

Biography

Originally from Lansing, Hal moved to Kalamazoo in ‘96 to study theatre at WMU, fell in love with Kalamazoo and settled here.  He has a BFA in Musical Theatre Performance, and has served as music director for several local churches and ensembles.  He is currently the music director for Blendings Vocal Ensemble, and music coordinator and composer for All Ears Theatre radio dramas.  By day, he is a mild-mannered elementary music teacher.  

Hal has written and directed several of the Senior Class Readers Theatre productions at the Civic, and has performed at the Civic, New Vic Theatre, Farmers Alley Theatre and others.  Favorite roles include Buffalo Bill in “Annie Get Your Gun”, Sterling in “Jeffrey”, Henry Ford in “Ragtime”, George in “It Shoulda Been You”, and Jack in “Broadway Bound” and “Brighton Beach Memoirs”.
