Katherine Harte-DeCoux

Biography

She is currently an Adjunct Theatre Professor at Western Michigan University (her undergraduate alma mater) and Kalamazoo College, and while living in New York City for 15 years, she worked as an actor, director, educator, stage combatant, playwright, producer, stage manager, and monologue coach. She also founded her own company, Mortal Folly Theatre. 

Since returning to Kalamazoo, Kate has teamed with Bare Backstage Productions on Fifty Shades of Shakespeare and the Fated to Be Costume Prom / Cabaret, acted at Great Escape Stage Company in Marshall (The Weir, This Day and Age), directed for Skits & Giggles (Sex Please, We're Sixty), and worked with the Kalamazoo Civic Theatre, where she has been an Actor (Lady M in Macbeth, War Paint), a Guest Director for Civic Youth Theatre (Comedy of Errors, The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane), and a Teaching Artist (Civic Academy of the Arts, KPS Communities in Schools).  She has also freelanced for the Arts Council of Greater Kalamazoo, the Vicksburg Cultural Arts Center, and Education For the Arts - KRESA.
