Including incarnations of real individuals who lost their lives that night, Dance Again: A Brief Choreopoem for the Brown Boys of Orlando examines the intersections of privilege in the wake of the deadliest act of violence against the Queer community in US history, the June 12th, 2016 shooting at Pulse Nightclub. Whose stories are told in the wake of a tragedy? What gate keepers hold the narrative? And how do we move towards healing and dancing again? “Orlando was a tragedy, but it was not your tragedy.”
Content Warning: This poem contains discussion of gun violence involving Queer Latine folks that may be unsettling to some.
